Review: Tarte Maracuja Oil

About a month ago, I walked into Sephora with only one thing in mind to purchase; my HG, the Soap and Glory Girligo Spray-On Body Mouiturizing Mist (I'll talk about that in a different post). One of my favourite things to do in Sephora is head to the travel-sized makeup section. I like heading there because I feel like through a mini-sized product, I get to try it out without fully committing to the hefty price.
Looking at all the products, I came across two oils, the Tarte Maracuja Oil and the Josie Maran 100 Percent Pure Argan Oil, both were about the same price for 15ml/0.5 fl Oz. I stood there for about 5 minutes trying to decide which oil to get, and in the end I (obviously) got the cheaper one.

I've heard plenty of good things about the oil before, so I decided to give it a go. I purchased it with the body mist, and headed back to do some research on it. On the Tarte Cosmetics official website, the Tarte Maracuja Oil claims that this earth-prescribed treatment oil targets your individual skin concerns and delivers harmony and moisture for firmer, brighter, smoother-looking skin. Since I'm a Youtube junkie, I kept on hearing how oils, specifically face oils are great for skincare and can benefit your skin through a skincare routine or just mixing it in with your foundation.
I suffered from acne and had dull, oily and uneven skin. I read online from Makeup Alley that I have to wait about two weeks before I see actual results, many saying how amazing the oil was and it was super worth it. So I took that chance, and used it every night, religiously, never failing to apply the oil on before I slept. At first, it took a while for the oil to sink in, but over time it absorbed into my skin quicker. Each morning when I wake up, I felt that my skin felt smoother and suppler. Now, after a month of using this oil, I rarely get breakouts, even when mother nature brings my gift! Although, I don't think it controls my oil like some other people claimed.
I really do enjoy this oil and have made it an essential in my night time skincare routine. Also, a little goes a long way, so you can survive on the travel-sized bottle if you're too afraid to commit! I think if you feel like you're missing something in your skincare, you should try out a face oil. For oily skin, I highly recommend you to apply the oil as a replacement for your nighttime moisturiser and let it sink into the skin overnight. For dry skin, you should apply it either before putting your foundation on, or mix a couple drops of it into your foundation to give yourself a dewy, lit-from-within glow.
